SK: Mike Jenkins, VK1MJ
Members who have lost contact with Mike Jenkins, VK1MJ, will be saddened to hear that after a long illness suffering from Alzheimers, Mike died peacefully on October 29th.
Mike came to the hobby quite late, commencing with an active interest in HF DX in 1993, culminating in some 332 countries confirmed, with a strong interest in 75mx greyline DX and was in fact instrumental in lobbying the late Peter Stackpole, then the FAS in ACMA to revise our DX window from its narrow 5kHz to a more useful 25 kHz, although we now enjoy 3.5-3.8.
Due to a continued decline in eyesight, Mike closed down operation of his station eight years ago.
