Thankyou very much to the committee members for putting up their hands to continue working for club members – and of course to those members who attended the AGM last night

I have great pleasure in advising that last night a motion was passed to make John Clare VK1CJ a life member of CRARC as an acknowledgement of the efforts that John has put towards running the inwards QSL bureau for the club. With only a short break, we believe he has been performing this role for at least 47 years (as best that we can ascertain), a period of time that has only just ended with John having handed over the inwards QSL manager role to Steve VK2NSS. John’s work is an incredible effort that needed to be recognised. Well done John and I am sure that everyone in the club (particularly those who have benefitted from his QSL card handling) will join me in thanking and congratulating John.

The second item I wish to mention pertains to the interference experienced on the callbacks to the relay of the Sunday morning WIA broadcast. After significant effort by a number of local amateurs, the source of the interference was located and a complaint made to ACMA. ACMA have advised that they undertook compliance action earlier this week which we understand resolves the complaint and hopefully prevent any recurrence. For a variety of reasons we will not be disclosing the source of the interference, how this activity was conducted nor the names of those who participated in our side of the event (you all know who you are – a big thanks for your efforts in achieving the outcome).
