CRARC Radio raffle / giveaway

Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club

CRARC Radio raffle / giveaway

Good evening all, the club has received a donation from an anonymous benefactor that they have specified is to be used to purchase radios to be raffled off to club members. As a result, the club has purchased six Retevis RT3S packages that include a Retevis RT3S 2/70 DMR/Analogue handheld radio, two batteries, a battery charger, a speaker mike, two antennas and a programming cable.

The intent is to raffle these radios off to members with two draws (three radio packages at each draw), the first to be held at the clubs end of year function (currently due to be held on 22 November 2023) and the second one at the clubs AGM on 28 February 2024. Rules of the raffle are as follows:

  1. All CRARC club members who are financial members and hold a valid Australian amateur radio licence (as of the time of the draw) will be eligible to receive one entry into the raffle held on 22 November 2023. Members wishing to participate in the draw will need to submit their entry in person immediately prior to the draw.
  2. All CRARC club members who are financial members and hold a valid Australian amateur radio licence (as of the time of the draw) will be eligible to receive one entry into the raffle held on 28 February 2024, excluding the three winners from the 22 November raffle. Members wishing to participate in the draw will need to submit their entry in person immediately prior to the draw.
  3. The first raffle of three radio packages is to be drawn at the clubs end of year function on 22 November 2023 and the second raffle of three radio packages is to be drawn at the clubs AGM on 28 February 2024– in the event that either date needs to change, the CRARC committee will determine a new draw date to be conducted as soon as practical around these dates and advise members accordingly.
  4. The raffles will be performed with a random selection of a name from a bowl containing names of all eligible entrants until all packages have a name against them.
  5. If the winner of one of these prize packages does not wish to accept the package, they may elect to have it redrawn or gift it to another financial member of the club (who holds a valid Australian amateur radio licence).
  6. Attendance in person at the drawing of the prize is required.
