DMR Network Changes

The VK DMR network is undergoing some major TG changes over the next couple of months.  This will affect anyone using the CRARC DMR Repeater on Isaacs Ridge.

If you are a DMR user, even casually, these will affect you so it would be worth reading the update at;
In short as of today all static TGs on repeaters except for 505 and 5 will be switching to user activated (UA).  TG’s 380x are no longer state specific and may be used as required.  No radio reprogramming required.
On the 9th Feb, TG’s 5 and 3801-3808 will be moved to timeslot 1.  Users are to use TG 505 as a calling TG then move to 3801-3808 for the chat.  TG 505 will be the only static TG.
The Tuesday evening VK-DMR net will move to TG 505.  Broadcasts will continue to use TG 5, but since it will be UA you will need to kerchunk it to listen.
So to summarise the summary. <grin>, Things are changing today, but you don’t need to reprogram your radio or hotspot until the 9th Feb.
As an addendum to the summary of the summary, the static/ua changes are for repeaters only.  Hotspot users will keep their current static mappings.  Of course the timeslot changes on the 9th Feb will affect everyone.
