SUMMARY:Foundation Night Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Foundation Night Meeting is a new initiative from the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club\, held on the first Wednesday of every second month (Feb\, Apr\, Jun\, Aug\, Oct\, Dec). \nThese sessions focus primarily on Foundation-qualified operators within the club\, including those recently qualified as well as longer term Foundation members who would like to become more active in this diverse and enjoyable hobby but may not yet have had the opportunity or guidance to do so. \nThe evenings are informal and practical\, providing an opportunity to ask questions\, see demonstrations\, and learn from other members. Topics may include equipment selection and demonstrations\, antenna building\, contesting\, and operating Amateur Radio outdoors. \nAll CRARC members are welcome to attend\, and we especially encourage experienced operators to join us to share their knowledge through discussion and demonstrations\, helping others become more engaged and enjoy the many aspects of Amateur Radio. \nEven if you are not yet qualified but are interested in Amateur Radio (and perhaps considering gaining your qualification)\, you are very welcome to attend. \nAs usual Coffee\, Tea and biscuits will be available. \nPizza may be available\, dependent on numbers and consensus. The usual $5.00 per slice of Pizza is requested to cover costs with a Vegetarian option for those that prefer it. \n

SUMMARY:Monthly General Meeting
DESCRIPTION:On the 4th Wednesday of each month\, CRARC holds a General Meeting for members and visitors. Doors open at 6:30pm for a start shortly thereafter. \nThe main part of the meeting will be a presentation on a topic of interest and it’s also an opportunity for local Amateurs to get to know each other. \nYou may find you will get more out of the presentation by applying for an Allstar node account (free of charge) at www.allstarlink.org\, as it does take a little time to be approved\, as they  are checking it is your callsign. \nThere are a couple of apps\, you may want download on your mobile phone such as DVSwitch which is free for Android Phones\, and Repeaterphone\, which has a cost\, for the Apple phones\, but get your Allstar Node account first. \nEven if you don’t get your NODE number in time\, you can take part in the next activity which is related to VK1IO’s Presentation.\n \nSeparate to the Wednesday night meeting (but related) Graeme\, is planning to link the Bulls Head repeater to the ARISS Broadcast on Monday night at 19:51:10 EST.\nThere will be a Call Back segment at the end so feel free to lodge your Call Back. NASA records Call Signs that participate in the Call Backs. \n \nYou don’t need your NODE Number to take part in this Monday night event\, just a VHF radio connected  to the Bulls Head Repeater as per normal.\n \nIf you are not able to reach the repeater by radio\, then the broadcast will be available on Allstar Node 49903 for those that set themselves up with DVSwitch or Repeater Phone before the event.\n\nAs per usual\, Pizza\, Coffee\, Tea and biscuits will be available. A slight change to our normal procedures will be the introduction of a sign-in sheet (where you can mark if you are interested in Pizza or not) so please help us by checking in upon arrival. This will reduce the time taken to order Pizza for those  that are interested. \n
