Foundation Night is coming up on Wednesday 5th August 2026 commencing at 6:30pm.

This evening is aimed primarily at recent Foundation candidates, although all Foundation members are welcome — especially those who may not yet have fully engaged in the hobby after gaining their qualification. The night is all about helping you get on the air and answering practical questions such as:

Unlike the Foundation course, which is focused on the syllabus and qualification process, this evening provides an opportunity to explore the practical side of amateur radio in a relaxed environment.

All members are welcome to attend, particularly those willing to assist newer operators or share equipment, experiences, and “show and tell” topics.

The previous Foundation Nights were well received, with a good range of demonstrations and discussion from experienced members.

As usual, if there is sufficient interest, pizzas will be available for $5 per plate, with normal coffee/tea and biscuits available at no cost.
